I’ve finally done it and said goodbye to 2018, and while it had many fun times and laughs, it also had its downs and not so great moments. It was a year of discovery and growth; from finally working out what career I somewhat see myself growing into and cementing myself into who I am and what I like. 2018 had all the opportunities to plan out and map the next few years. 2019, I am saying right here, right now, is going to be the year I try lots of new things and really try and break out of my comfort zone. Some of my major goals and dreams for 2019 are:
I am so ridiculously excited because I have my first ever full-time permanent job straight out of finishing uni and it is going to be the best thing ever for me (I hope). My number one goal career wise is to move one rung up the ladder by the end of 2019 to mid 2020 because I know I can do it. I am going to focus hard, keep my head down when I need to during training and learn everything that I possibly can at once and then when I need to, speak up and show I have some initiative and the ability to take on more responsibility. As long as I do my best I am one hundred per cent positive that I will be able to move on up as quickly as I can.
I am not ashamed to admit I am not the best when it comes to saving money. Spending it, well let’s just say I am a pro at it. I need to get my savings in order because I can’t keep living month by month waiting for my next pay cheque to arrive. My first step was to buy the Barefoot Investor book. I’m not going to follow it religiously and do every step but there are some interesting tips in there to keep me focused that I will be following. The ultimate goal is to pay off my student loans in the next 5 years and have a house deposit ready in the next 2 years.
The Year of Adventures
The biggest thing I am setting my sights on this year is to go on as many adventures and to push myself as far out of my comfort zone to try new things as much as possible. First thing on the list is pole dancing classes to improve my core and flexibility. Never in a million years would I think this was something that I would be game or confident enough to do, but if it wasn’t for one of my friends messaging me to do it I would never have jumped in and signed up. This is the year of saying yes to everything new and trying lots of new things.
What are your goals and dreams for 2019? Anything fun and exciting or is something more focused on you and your own personal growth? Let me know and share, I am so keen to hear what everyone aspires to do in 2019.
